Lapwing

Beautiful Paul.

You have some great colours there Paul, nicely drawn.

Another string to your bow Paul. Nicely done. What's coming next?

I remember seeing huge flocks of these, together with golden plover on the fields around the village where I grew up Paul. Not such a common sight these days, depends what’s in the fields for them to feed on I suppose, to a point. A lovely example of the bird Paul.

Lovely painting Paul

Some lovely colours, Paul, I especially like the sharpness of the black and white of the head against the green of the rushes in the background.

Thank you all very much for your kind comments, they are very much appreciated. It is surprising how large the flocks used to be. They were one of the birds that we needed to scare from the airfield, due to the risk to the fast jets coming in to land and take off.

A gorgeous painting Dixie

Fabulous painting Paul, love the colour on the wings.

Thanks Dennis, Anjana and John for your kind comments.

A4 watercolour, done for the daily sketch/painting. Painted following a discussion about no seeing lapwings since moving from Suffolk when we used to see large flocks in the fields around the airfield.
