Such majestic trees Paul. Trees always seem so animate, almost as if they can speak to you.

Very fine trees Paul. Good sketching.

Super trees Paul. A great drawing to start your new sketchbook.

Great sketch

That is superb, Paul! I really admire how the root system stands out at ground level. What a wonderful painting!!

A fine drawing Dixie, super trees. I know what you mean about new sketchbooks, there's always a sense of aprehension...after I've done the first page, that vanishes.

Good sketch ... new pads are always exciting!

Carole, George, Spencer, Christine, Anne, David, Lew and Heather thank you for you very kind comments. Your right Lew once the first mark is done it’s down to business come what may.

Great start, Paul. Love the drawing of the beeches?

This is a fantastic sketch Paul.

Thank you Denise your comment is appreciated a lot.

I was walking up the lane this morning passing beautiful trees like these. Really lovely Pau.

Pleased you had a pleasant walk Sylvia , I’m always amazed at the beautiful trees that are so much a part of the landscape and mostly never really noticed by lots of people. I have know trees to be taken down and when you have pointed it out someone the look at you blank , then suddenly they notice its gone , with a “ohh yeh shame it was a nice tree “.

Wonderful drawing of trees Paul.

As always Paul, your trees and their roots are superb.

Thank you Carole , Neil and Richard for your comments.

They look so stong and sturdy Paul, a lovely sketch.

A wonderful drawing, Paul!

You've captured the strength of these beautiful trees that have taken decades to get to this point Hopefully will be there for future decaedes

Many thanks Val, Anne and Moira. Hopefully they should last at least another 50 years if not infected or damaged , unfortunately we are loosing a lot due to development and the awful not needed HS2.

Lovely sketch Paul

Very impressive Dixie. I love old trees and their exposed roots.

Thanks Tessa , there is something very beautiful about them and I think they can look quite mysterious , I love trying to see things in the like face’s , animals etc.

Love the trees Paul.

Wonderful characters Paul and a great sketch.

What a lovely and well observed sketch Paul.

Thank you Diane for your comment.

Nice sketch Paul

Thank you for taking the time to look and comment Paul.

Lovely use of light and dark shading. I love trees especially ones that have clearly been through all sorts of adversity. Not unlike yourself as I read from your bio. You have a new follower! Your story is very inspirational. 🙂

Thank you Jennifer for your kind comment.

Pencil sketch in a new hard back sketch pad , there is something a bit intimidating about starting a new sketch book but at the same time it’s exciting. Using this pad for landscape sketch . Whist sketching I recalled my grandad say to someone give the lad a pencil and bit of paper , he be happy, sixty odd years later I still am.
