Superb landscape painting Paul.

I think the long format is working really well for you and I like this a lot

Lovely open vista. You’ve really captured the atmosphere of the Dales, Paul - a beautiful unspoiled area.

Beautifully done, Paul. Love the contrasting green fields.

This has great depth and is such an inviting landscape Paul.

You are adjusting your greens very well Paul. Nicely painted.

Thank you all I appreciate your kind comments. The greens will it’s one of those things that you can get very wrong if you do it all one tone , grass isn’t all the exact same colour. It one of the most difficult things to learn how to paint when you are doing landscape, trees etc , practice practice and have I said practice.

I like the way the road leads to the sunny distant fields - lovely vista, Paul!

Lovely Paul.

Many thanks Anne , John and Denise I appreciate your comments.

Splendid composition Paul.

Super composition Paul. You’ve really captured the Dales landscape.

Thanks Christine, I do appreciate your comment.

The long landscape format really makes you have another think about your usual approach - I think it helps one to avoid cluttering the picture; you sort of, I don't know, see the wider possibilities and don't need to fill everything in. This works well.

Robert , I do agree as I don’t feel restricted when I’m laying our the base sketch , it’s certainly down to the format and more in line with what how actually see things .

I really like this, a lovely feeling of fresh air !!

Looks good

The panorama you’ve use here Paul helps describe the wide open countryside

Super landscape Paul, with a great sense of distance too

Frank and Trevor thanks I appreciate your comments .

And the format really suits the landscapes you are doing at present. Lovely soft fresh greens and an interesting sky.

I like the cloudy sky which has given a lovely contrast, which you captured, over the distant fields. The diluted far-off hills give your work a sense of distance. Nice work, Dixie.

Watercraft landscape painting of farmland in the Dales , I love the stone walls and the old buildings in the fields. The hours it must have taken to build them and cart all the stones. I’m really enjoying using the longer landscape format for both this type of scene and maritime work as well. Used several online photos to develop this scene.
