Beautiful old tree well painted Paul.

Really excellent piece Paul, it all gells together so well…

George , Marjorie and Alan thank you I appreciate your comments.

Nicely done indeed and like the info with it Paul.

Another good tree study Paul. The old ones are the most interesting I think.

Like this Paul, nicely done.

Wonderful painting Paul.

Chris, Andrew, Stephen and Denise thank you for your comment they are all appreciated.

Beautiful old tree with lots of character. Sad it had to go but nice that you have painted it as a memory.

You're adding more, and subtler, colour to your paintings these days, I think. A positive development in both cases, and I like the mossy touches and the bracken in this one; good depth, too.

What a great old tree and at least you have a good painting to remember it by

Superb painting Dixie. It’s like your tree had a personality of its own.

Thank you all for your very kind comments. I think of trees as being different from each other Tessa , no two are ever close to being identical , we do tend to see human traits in lots of things and attribute them with a personality etc. I tend to refer to then as her for some reason , that big old lady, has her blouse on full display etc , think I picked it up from an old forester I worked with .

Excellent painting, Paul and the setting with the Bracken is just right - well done!

Thank you Anne, I appreciate your comment.

Love the textures on this characterful old tree.

Valerie, Jenny and Christine many thanks for your kind comments.

A really excellent result Paul.

Thanks Sandra , I appreciate your comment.

A4 in A3 mount watercolour of an old dead tree , so much life lives in these old trees and they do have a beauty to them as the colours change due different rates of decay. This old tree I unfortunately had to remove , due to risk to the public, full story and the process of painting is on the forum as a work in progress. The tree is drawn with the paint brushes, enabling me to get the detailing of the structure as it rots away .
