A beautiful painting, Paul - I particularly like that tree with its rather complicated root system.

What a lovely result Dixie, full of Spring sunlight and movement. One of those “makes me want to be there” paintings!

Terrific Paul, great tree.

A very attractive watercolour Paul, everything in total harmony!

Thank you David , Tessa and Andrew I appreciate your comments. It seemed to be a bit fuzzy compared to the actual painting, lost some clarity when posting I think .

Thanks Alan we were post about the same time .

Wonderful work Paul, I’ve always found water especially waterfalls and streams difficult but you’ve done this scene proud! Like the trees.👌👍🙏

You have certainly nailed this one Paul.

Well painted Paul, a complicated scene well handled.

Lovely painting, nice to see you doing trees again, !!!

An idyllic scene, when you follow a stream you often come across little picturesque areas like this. Wish I could still do it. A charmer Paul, you excel at things like this.

A lovely woodland scene Paul

Excellent colour palette, nicely painted.

Good composition, Paul.

Many thank everyone for your comments, they are appreciated . I do enjoy painting woodland scenes, think it’s where my heart is , love to be able to get back up into them and working.

Great composition and painting

You're producing work of a consistently good standard Paul, this is no exception.

I like those twisted branches and roots Paul.

Love your spring greens in this Paul.

Many of us have the Spring painting bug Paul….it’ll end soon. Lovely idyllic scene, a midsummer night’s dream.

Christine,Russell , John, Val and Marjorie many thanks for you lovely comments.

This is delightful, no need to move away from the spring painting bug, we could all do with more springtime.

Thank you Sandra , spring seems to be a very short season, as we are soon saying it’s got the summer feel or look .

A charming woodland scene - lovely, Paul!

Anne thank you for you comment I do appreciate it.

Lovely woodland scene, Paul, with that varied range of greens.

Thanks Jenny I appreciate your comment.

A4 watercolour in A3 mount of a stream running through the woodlands in early spring. I often notice the colours of the new leaves letting light through that had a yellowish green tinge, the light coloured leaves contrasting with the colour of the dead leaves on the ground. Process of painting this one is on the forum , must try to move away from the spring painting bug I have at the moment .

I have sketched most of my life on and off I became interested in watercolour following a spinal injury whilst in hospital but did not follow it up. My eldest daughter bought me a beautiful wooden box set of half pans about twenty five years ago I dabbled on and off until retirement twelve years…
