Thank you all for the kind comments. I’m pleased with how the colours look subdued, I was hopeful of catching that time of day when the colours are starting to loose the brightness from the sunlight, sometimes it can look like false colour .

Definitely not for the bin Dixie! As has been said you’ve captured the feel of a damp dull day, weather at this time of year is often dull and dreary but can still make a decent painting, as here.

Many thanks for all the kind comments, I painted this whist feeling quite unwell , think that is what led to my opinion of it . It does look brighter when looking a few day later, and I’m pleased with the results particularly the damp dull atmosphere.

Don’t put yourself down Paul we all have those days even the best artists question what they do and you must do that to push yourself along, if we think we have arrived then we are wrong as it takes time and persistence it’s all part of learning! The amount I have chucked in the bin out of frustration is one hell of a lot of paintings, look at where you think you’ve gone wrong but take a break and have another go if it takes several attempts then so be it but we never stop learning and anyone who makes out they have made it is a liar! We are ALL still learning so when you feel better pick yourself up and go again, your a very good artist but we all make mistakes and this is not a bad painting so don’t give up.👍🙏👌😉
