What I forgot to add is this is part of ongoing experimenting with pens and pastel, something quite new to me .

This is well done Paul, good group of colours.

Love the quirkiness of this Paul.

Experiment going well Paul

The use of pen and inks suits your style of working very well.

Always exciting to try new things and you never know where it will lead.

Absolutely love this, Paul, those touches of pastel are just enough to set it all off.

Very effective Paul. Well done.

Lovely harmonious tones, I rather like it !!

Thank you all for your very kind comments, I appreciate them .

Interesting structures Paul. Works well with the paper.

I'm getting a gritty type of texture from this experiment, Paul, and it's cracking as a result. More to come hopefully

Thank you John and Graham, I hope to do some more work on the pen and pastel as I’m really enjoying messing around.

The combination of pen and pastel works very well Dixie. Interesting experiment.

Thank you Tessa , it’s something I will try and develop a bit more.

Good experiment Paul, I like the textures.

Well done Paul. It's good to experiment, and it's working well for you. I think it always adds something to your bank of artistic knowledge.

Very interesting pen and pastel work Paul.

Andrew, George and Carole thank you for your kind comments I do appreciate them.

I really like this. Your limited palette works well on the tan coloured paper.

A4 pen and pastel sketch of a old steam barge loading cargo , inspiration came fro a late 1800s sepia photo . Used a tan coloured paper with a couple of different shade pens and pastel , only using grey, white and black ink Fineliners .
