It has a vintage style Paul, nicely done.

I like this Dixie. Great use of a limited palette.

I like your composition here Dixie, keeping the trees to the one side, works well.

I love this painting, wish I could paint trees like you , Beautiful!!

Stephen, Mark , Tessa and Valerie thank you for your very kind comments. Valerie it’s like everything we paint just practice and I do believe known your subject , I love trees and had the privilege of working I the woodlands and had a great deal of learning that is now paying off.

Lovely scene Paul, and like Tessa I think that it works well with the trees on one side.

This has a lovely elegance about it Paul.

A very appealing little watercolour sketch Paul…such great colours!

One of your best Paul. Lovely composition and well painted.

Thank you all for your kind and much appreciated comments. The idea to leave the left side blank can as a stroke luck, the original scene is of a woodlands with lots of trees on the right , what I’ve done is use the left side of the photo . I put a book down and it cropped the photo so that I could only see the left side , decided to make the space bigger, I do like to challenge the norm occasionally.

You are going well with the watercolour, and beautifully controlled Paul.

I like this too, great use of really delicate colours

Thank you John and Heather , I really enjoy working this way and trying to keep the colours as simple and pure as possible.

Spot on Paul……would make a great card!

Thanks Fiona for your kind comment.

Thank you Cheryl I must admit to being very pleased with the results.

A4 watercolour in A3 mount , a quick watercolour painting of trees in snow with some snow stuck to the bark . I wanted it to be subdued colours to reflect the cold atmosphere but I also wanted to see how little paint was needed to create a scene like this. I am influenced by a lot of Victorian watercolourist who use pure colour and lots of water , I think I’ve succeeded but if not I like it and feel content with the finished painting.
