This is gorgeous Paul, I love the colour in the trees and fence. So effective.

Brrr.... that does look cold, Paul!!

I think you've caught the mood of the weather, Paul. Well painted.

Very Christmasy Paul and you've really caught the feeling of coldness.

Very intrepid going out early today, Dixie. Undisturbed snow makes everything look beautiful, so it was worth the effort. A very good result, with a great sense of distance.

Wow that's lovely! Reallu like the way you made up the snow and Love how you made it look a sense of distance at the back 🙌 It's made me feel cold thanks Paul.

Thank you Carrie, David, Willie,Michale, Val, Lew and Faye for your kind comments. There is so much beautiful countryside around here , that is often taken for granted , I know I should make more use of it as a painting resource. Hmm maybe a New Years resolution, get out and photo and paint much more, nothing stopping me really .

Well done Paul, and this is well worth the effort. As said a great sense of distance.

It must look gorgeous there Paul, lovely painting.

Thank you Richard and Denise for your kind comments. It did look really good earlier today Denise , sadly it’s thawed a lot and is now patchy , still great countryside but the white stuff makes it look so much prettier.

Making me shiver Paul. So pretty, shame it eventually goes all muddy looking.

Thanks Carole , at least in the fields it not churned in mush by car etc. I just love how everything is so fast looking , even a mundane view is so impressive with a bit of snow . I wouldn’t want it all the time then it would not be so special.

Crisp fresh and beautifully produced Paul always

Dennis and Linda thank you both for your comments they are appreciated.

Another good one Paul,well done.

Thank you Chris you comment is appreciated.

Very chilly.

It was and still is Sylvia , thanks for taking the time to comment.

Love the title Paul…lol….a super wintery scene.

Thank you Fiona fir you kind comment.

Very beautiful, Paul!

Thank you Anne and Carole for taking the time to comment and look at my painting.

You've painted this beautifully Paul.

Dazzling! You have captured the scene beautifully.

Love the shadows great painting

Thank you Moira , it’s surprising what a little bit of Rose Madder and pale blue can do to a painting, like real snow just the hint of light change .

Really good 👍

A4 watercolour of a snowy scene ,. I went out early whist it was sunny, took some photos and a bit of sketching , Came ho e , bloody frozen , warmed up and did this quick watercolour. It’s of a local farm set in a dip between two slopes , the car thermometer was reading -4. Very clear and absolutely beautiful scene, but it not that good a view without the snow.

I have sketched most of my life on and off I became interested in watercolour following a spinal injury whilst in hospital but did not follow it up. My eldest daughter bought me a beautiful wooden box set of half pans about twenty five years ago I dabbled on and off until retirement twelve years…
