This is lovely Paul. I like the way you’ve painted outside the frame.

Very nice indeed Paul

Lovely Paul. They are a great subject.

An interesting experiment with the seldom used colours. I like it, a good result.

Lovely painting Paul 😊

Many thanks Christine, Heather , Sylvia, Lew and Faye for your very kind comments. I know that people see them as weeds but they do look really good, in the right place . I would imagine you see a lot on your walks with Sam down the lanes Sylvia.

Wow, Paul. That is superb - love your use of subtle colours!!

Really good Paul and as said I like the way you have painted outside the frame. Also, the colours are very good.

It's good to experiment Paul and this looks great, the colours go well together, great job.

Thank you David , Richard and Denise for you kind comments.

Really lovely Paul, you could add another one or two rose branches, if you think one splits the painting? Just a thought.

Thank you Carole for your comment and idea that something to think about.

I really like it Paul. A good idea to use some of the colours that you rarely use.

Thank you David, I did enjoy doing it and will repeat the process I think I was surprised at the colours I managed to achieve .

Like this very much Paul, as others have said …..especially the way you have taken some of the elements of the subject out of the frame.

Thank you Fiona , it was fun to do as I had no preconceived ideas about it , developed as it went along , thus relaxed and relaxing.

I don’t go for flower pictures very much, but this is lovely work, Paul

Thank you Bob and Maureen for you comment. I do like doing the occasional floral painting Bob, they do take a lot of concentration and skill to get the petals looking so thin. It’s all good practice for other subject and as they say a change is as good as a rest.

That’s a very good reason for me to have a go! Thanks, Paul👍🏻

Thank you Denise for your kind comment. Go for it Bob I’m sure you will learn a lot from painting a few flowers, I’m looking forward to seeing one on the gallery.

Beautiful delicate painting

Another lovely pic

Thank you Anne and Candy for you lovely comments.

Gorgeous, Paul and like the way it's growing out of the frame!

Than you Anne these weeds are so difficult to control the push up,everywhere, I do like to see the occasional painting with bits out of the frame.

My favourite (weed) lovely delicate painting.

Thank you Anne they do look lovely especially in a dark area.

A 17x28.5 panting on a3 watercolour paper. Done as an experiment using Indigo, French Ultramarine, Permanent Red Violet and Yellow. I rarely use viridian or ultramarine and have never used the red violet , so I though to give them a go and produce something. I realise as pointed out by my best friend that the rose branch running red through the painting splits it, they grow how and where they want in real life. Not really a very serious painting.

I have sketched most of my life on and off I became interested in watercolour following a spinal injury whilst in hospital but did not follow it up. My eldest daughter bought me a beautiful wooden box set of half pans about twenty five years ago I dabbled on and off until retirement twelve years…
