Another very good sketch of a horse!!

Another good sketch Paul

I like the serenity you have portrayed here, Dixie. Lovely work.

And another good one, Paul - lovely!

Lovely horse Paul as always. A beauty 😍

Lovely sketch Paul, well done.

Many thanks David, Heather, CJ, Anne, Faye and Denise fir you comments they are really appreciated.

Good sketch, Dixie. This is a difficult pose...horses sitting or lying down always look 'wrong' to me...in real life, I mean. I suppose it's a bit much to expect them to stand all the time.

Thanks Lew , I agree the don’t look at all right laid down, bit like cow’s as well, neither look very comfortable. In suppose they need to take the weight of those pins as much as we do.

Yet another great horse Paul. Keep them coming !

Thank you Richard , I’m always worried test I might bore people with them .

Great sketch Paul, he/she does look very comfortable.

Thank you for taking the time to comment Fiona .

Excellent sketch, Paul!

Thanks Thalia, your comment is appreciated.

Excellent sketch

Such a beautiful drawing of this horse Paul, and pose too! We love horses and recently accompanied our little grandaughter to a ranch where she has started riding lessons. Took some great photos of them so might try a horse sketch ..they express noble nods and something about horses that just inspire to draw, and study too, equestrian beauty to behold!

Thank you Angela, they are challenge to draw and paint but certainly worth the effort , go for it and get sone nice sketch or painting for your granddaughter, I wish I’d done it years ago for the older ones.

A3 sketch pad , pence sketch of a horse in its stall. Another sketch in my granddaughters pad. This is the most difficult one so far , trying to get the folded legs to look right was difficult. Still no sight of getting bored with the subject with is unusual for me, in fact I’m getting more into it than I thought I would . I have other things on the go as well so that helps I suppose.

About the Artist

I have sketched most of my life on and off I became interested in watercolour following a spinal injury whilst in hospital but did not follow it up. My eldest daughter bought me a beautiful wooden box set of half pans about twenty five years ago I dabbled on and off until retirement twelve years…
