Stunning Diana....

Wow, what a stunning portrait!

Thank you Frank . She had a mass of hair and I didn't know how to tackle it so just went wild with a very large brush. Had to keep the clothes loose .. Thank you David ..all a bit trial and error on the paper Thank you Dennis R. I'm pleased that you said that because I thought she looked a bit washed out..she looks less so in the real painting Thank you Russell, it's given me confidence to try another one Thanks Dennis rob. She is a very beautiful girl so didn't want to ruin her youthful looks Thank you Peter, I genuinely don't know how she turned out looking like herself!! I started with the eyes and mouth followed by the hair and worked out using lots of water so I could mop up mistakes! Janet, I really appreciate iate you feedback. I always avoid figures but was asked to do this for a friend.. I promised to have a try. .

Wonderful portrait Diana, perfect in every respect. I like skin tones, soft shadows on the skin and soft airs. Much expressive too, needless to say.

Diana, I haven't caught up with you before this but I have looked at your gallery and I so like what I see. I know just what you mean about what I tend to call the "Wasted Years!!" Your work is lovely, do keep on with it, and my very best wishes.

Hello Ruth and thank you for taking the time to post such a motivating comment. Diana

Just checked you out after that kind comment Diana.... This painting has class....... Did you say "developing" in watercolour??? what....

Thank you Guy. I started with watercolour just over two years ago and have recently stopped doing tutorials and exercises to try my own subjects. Being asked to paint a portrait really pushes my developing skills Thanks again Diana
