I have a copy of Osbert Sitwell's (rather interminable) autobiography, in which some of Piper's work on Renishaw features; the house seems to be a never ending source of inspiration; they don't build 'em like that anymore...

I like the point of view on this one.

Work in progress obviously, I don’t usually post them but decided that I would on this occasion. Mixed media on Canson A3 grey paper. You can’t think of Renishaw Hall without John Piper coming to mind, an artist well worth studying. Just experimenting with tone and colour and then I’ll move on to my churches series.
