Don't know how you do it in that short time Alan, fabulous.

I like the palette in this Alan.

A beauty Alan love the foreground distance great vista

This is fabulous. The commission is going to be very dramatic.

Stupendous Alan! Amazing work in such a short time, considering the size and content.

Brilliant Alan. I love it.

Good grief.. How long? I just love the bands of changing colour .. Very clever and great depth.
Diana

This is great again Alan as Marjorie said lovely pallet on this one .

Super composition Alan - look forward to the biggy.

Just over an hour is amazing, how you get a sketch to look so good with very little detail , proves that less is sometimes best.great depth to this and love the foreground colours, another gem.

Thank you for all your positive comments, I painted this one really quickly to prevent me from putting in any detail, windows etc, which would have ruined the effect, yes Andre, sometimes less is more...

Superb piece, Alan, loads of spontaneity and atmosphere.

I love those disordered shapes and tones in the foreground compared to the angular order of the backgound

Surely the sketches are elements to be included in the commission show Alan.Too good to discard.

Thank you Seok, Lynne and yes Derek, all will be included, thank you.

Great markmaking in this Alan. Particularly like the way the chimneypots lead up to similar larger shapes in the middle ground and then up to the huge buildings at the back. Really clever composition.

Thank you Sharon, that was intentional.

Wonderful Alan.

Amazing piece of work done in so short a time....Clever division of foreground and backdrop colours,Alan

Wow, Alan! Can't wait to see the big one!
PS. I'm glad my snowmen made you laugh!!

Oil on canvas 24 x 30'', rapid oil sketch, just over an hour, so no detail. Part of my commission, the large watercolour is next.
