Like this a lot Alan , and it’s all the better for it not been photographic .

It looks like you enjoyed this Alan with the lively colours and bold mark making

Super painting Alan.

Really good, love all the tones you've used.

A change for you Alan! Maybe a little touch of Cezanne?

Thanks guys, always appreciate your feedback and support! A change Tessa, yes… that’s because I’m working on a forthcoming project for TA, so I need to experiment with some still life stuff using oil bars and mixed media in general - I’m enjoying the challenge!

Love the textures and energy created. I too have an aversion to photorealism!

Good one Alan.

You’ve already eaten the other half of that pear, haven’t you Alan. No Cézanne here, letting them rot! I’m enjoying your SL’s - methinks you protest too much, a closet Still Lifer if I ever saw one!😁

More lovely fruit Alan; beautiful marks!

Thanks again guys… yes Marjorie, I certainly did eat the other half!

A beauty 😍 love the apple

Gorgeous colours Alan!

Much more lively and interesting than with a camera! By the way, who are R&F please? Can't place them.

Good to see you using oil bars/pastels and the result is superb Alan. I agree with your comment about being photographic.

Thanks again guys… Sandra, hello there, R&F brand of oil bars can be found on the major websites, Jackson’s Art have them. The other brand that I have is Sennelier, the R&F do seem to be slightly softer to work with. I’ll post a photo of the box on the forum.

Love this, Alan. Depth of texture and colour.

Fabulous standard Alan! Love the apple…..🫢😂

The quality of your mark making is so good. This is one of the best still life's I've seen in ages.

Very tasty Alan.

Superb Alan! I love the way you’ve depicted the fruit and used your chosen medium

Mixed media using a selection of R&F oil bars and oil pastels - a simple display of just two fruit on Stonehenge 250gsm A3 Kraft paper. I set up these few items on a small table outside, during the heatwave last week… the cut fruit soon deteriorates…not in any way photographic which I try and avoid like the plague. I’ve gone for a more lively style of drawing on this piece, and worked in my own colours, which aren’t necessarily an accurate representation, but I’m not after that! I’ve got a camera for that!
