Beautifully done, Alan!!

Like this a lot Alan , I’m fascinated with the marks that are made using a painting knife .

Thanks chaps… I wasn’t overly impressed with how it turned out, so this has now been painted over!

I too like this Alan - I like the cour combinations and the knife work. I have never used a painting knife but always like the results. Am also interested in the gesso and chalk ground, again have not really investigated different grounds. Thanks for the inspiration!

It’s often a mystery to those who HAVEN’T done the painting as to why the artist isn’t happy with it. I like it Alan but you must have your reasons.

I do the same Alan. There has been times where I have looked back and thought why did I do that. I always love the way you place you paint on and just leave it without overworking.

I particularly like the colour combinations, very attractive

This is lovely work Alan.

I like the textures you’ve achieved with the knife and stiff brushes Alan. I also like the fact that it’s given the scene an imperfect and unfussy appearance which I personally like.

Well Painted Alan.

Well painted Alan, love the texture

Really like this Alan - certainly those flashes of Red against the Blue- beautiful.

Lovely textures and warmth despite your misgivings Alan

Appreciated guys, thanks!

Love the sky, and the colours used just seem to work. I think this is really good!!

Great texture and colour Alan.
