I really like the way you've painted those buildings and people but am not so sure those trees are working for me? Hope you don't mind me saying this.

Excellent impressionism painting, I agree with Heather about the trees, but the colours are very good 😊

Thanks for the comments guys… I dropped the trees in quite boldly I agree, I felt the composition needed that darker contrast towards the bottom! I’m fine with them still but appreciate your feedback!

I like it as it is , the dark area of trees works well against the buildings.

I like this as is. It’s a nice technique, the result is almost like one of your pen and wash paintings but in oil.

Lovely impressionist painting of these buildings and colour palette too, diminutive people and monument of the lion! Nice bold colours and fading out to sky blue gives relief and lifts the tall buildings towards the sky,a lovely painting Alan!

This is really lovely Alan. A great impressionist piece. The detailed buildings and diminutive, brightly coloured people are great but, like Heather, I’m not so sure about the trees.

It's a lovely painting. I like the trees too - they add some darks to balance out the lights.

This peeped into the corner of my eye on the Home page, but I couldn't see/find it on the Gallery - things do disappear so quickly. Anyway, here 'tis.... I love the rosy colours of the buildings, and the way you've carried blue throughout the painting. You have linear aspects, combined with more atmospheric effects; I think it works, even if you have doubts: because you could leave it like this, or you could develop it further, and either way - you'd have a good painting. I'm very interested in this surface now - something else to try!
