Low Tide at Faversham Creek

Lovely delicate sky, Alan, great perspective with the strong foreground leading the eye through to the distant shore. Job done, as always!

That is superb. I love paintings from that part of England!!

Terrific contrasts in tone & colour.

It's such a wonderful scene and the sky is so delicate with a beautiful range of colour, superb Alan.

Beautiful scene Alan in your signature style. The foreground pops out at me and the water is brilliant.

A spell binding Watercolour Alan.

So beautiful Alan. Looks just like an old master’s Dutch painting.

Excellent watercolour Alan

Great painting Alan in every way

Oh yes! Echoes of Hilder, Wesson and Seago. Lovely work. John

A great scene Alan and beautifully painted.

Lovely painting Alan. Love Light and shadows.

A beautifully balanced composition, Alan and wonderfully painted. Love the delicate distant forms and the sharp marine goings on.

Love your striking ink and watercolour paintings, Alan.

Love the delicate colours that work so well together in your painting. Super.

Beautifully subtle palette and washes Alan. Until you look close, you can’t appreciate the time and patience taken to lay each wash to build up the depth.

As has already been said, you have created a very realistic feeling of depth and perspective here, with the gradually increasing tonal values, from the far distance to the foreground. I also like the Cotman like sky.

Excellent painting Alan.

Beautiful watercolour Alan.

The perfect painting of a perfect scene! Love it , Alan!

Lovely one Alan, I do love these beautiful watercolours

I don’t know how I missed this Alan - my eye is drawn through the painting to the lovely tone and colour in the sky and that small dash of red is a clever addition.

Superlative, as usual, Alan. I really like the wonderful loose treatment of the sky and background buildings, which so effectively contrast with the detailed rendition of the ships. A really excellent piece.

A lovely watercolour -I particularly like the light in the lower sky, and then one's eye drops to the two little figures, who lead you back into the painting again - wonderful!

Absolutely love this one Alan, lots to look at but done with minimal effort. That’s how a watercolour should be.👍

The historic Oyster Bay House is instantly recognisable and a favourite subject for many artists. It provides the perfect focal point! I’ve painted two versions of this scene, the second one has been photographed in stages for an e-newsletter demonstration scheduled for December. Watercolour on Arches 400lb NOT paper, 11 x 15in using Cotman watercolours and some Indian ink.
