I like the swirling effect of the sky, Alan. Another good one. You seem to like Fabriano.....I'm just into the process of trying that paper myself.

Lovely painterly picture. You have captured it beautifully, and it is reminiscent of Turner to me. I especially like the way the hall is painted.

Yes, I love that swirly effect too....such beautiful glowing colours .. definitely something Turneresque about this one!!

Another beauty Alan, I have often thought that your work has a hint of Turner's about it. No bad thing, always aim high!

Caught with brilliance Alan very very nice

wonderful painting, Alan. The sky is superb. I like much the light at the right side lighting the trees, and the building too.

Gorgeous colours !!

Love the atmosphere that this one gives off Alan, it's also full of space and freshness. The sky is quite special, with the colour moving around the sun.....love it!

The sun and the sky here have a character!

So beautiful and bright Alan, I love this painting :)

Love the slightly surreal, other-worldly feel of the piece, Alan. Your range is just superlative. Excellent piece!

Brilliant Alan. Everything has been said. Love it!

Watercolour on Fabriano 300lb, 1/4 Imperial. Just a few hundred or so yards from my home stand the imposing gates to this beautiful 17C hall, once home to the Admiral of the Fleet, John Jervis. I've tried to capture it with an early morning hazy sun, with the mist rising from the river Trent, which runs nearby.
