Its already looking great and its good to be able too see some of the grid lines showing. As an learner in oils I am really looking forward to your WIP.

I like this already. Really looking forward to the 6 stages on the website Alan.

Beautiful work, Alan, wonderful colours.

Love the colours Alan, looking forward to the WIP.

I like that unfunished look Alan.

I love this Alan! The palette, the bones of the piece showing through and the unfinished look. All plus points to me Al.

Interesting to see the scaling up method Alan, which I’ve not tried. It’s a lovely composition and look forward to seeing the rest.

Striking painting - love the colours.

Wow Alan! Fantastic works from you every time. Congratulations on all of your success which is so well deserved. Keep them coming! xx

Really appreciate the use of pastel shades - you have made a complicated composition really work Alan

A demo of scaling up a painting using the grid method. The whole 6 stages will be on the POL website as a WIP at some stage when Dawn’s scheduled it. The first two stages are part of a feature in TA, showing my original small plein air oil sketch, then scaling up to this size which is 60% bigger. Oil on linen board, 40 x 50cm. Some grid lines are still visible which is absolutely acceptable. I've deliberately left the foreground area very loose, almost unfinished perhaps!
