Great atmosphere in this one Alan. I especially like the way you've done the skies in this series.

Caught with real style and imaginative colours Alan

This one is great too Alan, fabulous colour and textures.

Fantastic sky on this one Alan. Another terrific painting.<br />( and thanks for your comments on my work, Alan)

There&#39;s a wonderful lead into this painting Alan from the two foreground kilns up the road to the yellow (?) gable, and finally to the silhouetted church tower...which then gives you time to wonder at your amazing signature sky! A great addition to the series.

Brilliant. You can see the sea of smog being held in over the roof tops. Fabulous use colours and oils.

A truly great industrial scene, beautifully and skilfully painted Alan. I love the colours too!

Wonderful depth - of colour, composition and, come to that, history.

i walk past the Gladstone chimney everyday too work..there so striking.. you&#39;ve captured the drama very well...the sky is beautiful and moody

Terrific atmosphere in this one Alan, that deadly sky speaks of the time, similar scene near me then, with the &#39;Dark Satanic Mills&#39; of Lancashire.

Thank you all for your interesting comments, I am continuing to work through the series, glad you like them.

Superb piece, Alan. The sky really sets the scene, and your layering and depth are just excellent. It&#39;s also very highly atmospheric.

Great series of paintings Alan. Being a Lancashire lass exiled in Scotland this reminds me of my northern roots. I do love that sky especially the top right corner.

Oil on canvas 24 x 30''. A series that I am working on for Stoke City Council depicting the bygone Potteries. Reference Old B&amp;W photos duplicated from the archives of the newspaper that I worked for as editorial artist. This includes the pot banks and steel foundries in the 30's to 50's when the conditions were appalling, choking fumes from these industries, billowing out accross the towns.
