Lock Gate and Cattle Bridge - Barlaston.
Indian ink on A4 Strathmore Tan paper, with a splash of white gouache. A continuation of my recent plein air sketches of canals. This is the bridge that I was standing on when I sketched out my last posting of the four locks gates. The perspective looking from this lower vantage point was much simpler to get right! These are simple working sketches, not intended as finished pieces in any way - but it may be an idea to take one or two a stage further at some point.
