The Monument at Shugborough

Comments

Recognised that as Shugborough Hall is now one of my favourite NT properties!!

Excellent work Alan, my first though when I looked was it has a Turner look ,not surprisingly as you are studying his techniques at the moment.

Very Turneresque Alan. I admire your restraint in not fiddling with the very loose style

Very Turner, very atmospheric Alan.

Wonderfully atmospheric Alan, beautifully minimalist.

Lovely work! Your style ties in with whole 'classical' feel of the subject - I like it!

Your skies are always amazing Alan.

Another very successful watercolour Alan.

Love the lack of detail and the overall harmony of your painting Alan.

I love using a limited palette. This has a feeling of freedom and peacefulness, and has a touch of, dare I say it, abstraction. Love it, Alan.

Beautiful atmosphere created Turneresque

A beautiful painting.

Beautifully done Alan.

This monument or folly stands proudly in the grounds of Shugborough Hall. Watercolour on Fabriano HP 300lb 21x 15in. Slight Turneresque approach using a limited palette.
