What a lovely painting Thea! I imagine that it was great fun to do and you were smiling throughout. All the gulls look rather puzzled except for the one on the top left who looks quite cross and shouty! I do like the positioning of the gulls, all facing in different directions, looking for their meal. It's very good and made me smile this morning. Well done.

I do enjoy a bit of levity and this has it in bundles - nice one Thea

As usual a really nice painting, Thea. Love the seagulls.

The one on the top of the mast , has my vote. Happy painting

Lovely, and fun too! You have a light touch, Thea, that somehow suits your subjects (whether children, seagulls, or even your husband!). So smile-inducing.

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to comment. It was nice to be able to do something a bit different and light-hearted for a change (even although it included one of my beloved boats)!

Sorry, my thanks look a bit abrupt reading them back - I was being distracted by dog wanting it's tea! What I meant to say was thank you all so much for taking the time to comment and for saying such nice things about my painting, which I really appreciate. My apologies for the lapse in manners.

Lovely fresh painting

Lovely fresh painting

I agree with the above comments, Thea, especially with Louise. She said it so well. Super!

Thank you so much Glennis and Mia for your nice comments. Hope you had a bit of a giggle at the lunch queue!

A fun painting of greedy seagulls! Lovely textures in the sandy foreground Thea.

I'd like to know where the queue for the chips is?! Great painting Thea, like it very much.

Thank you very much Carole and Fiona for your lovely comments. Fiona, I would be first in the queue for the chips - my weakness I'm afraid!

Made me smile, Thea! Love the beautiful clear palette and scavenging gulls!

Thank you so much Seok - it was just a bit of fun really and I enjoyed painting it.

Just a bit of fun really - loved all these seagulls lined up in the hope of a meal when the fishing boats land their catch. Watercolour on Langton Prestige 140lbs.
