A friend of mine asked me if I would paint his dog, and provided a good photo, as he is an excellent photographer. I said I would be happy to try, if he would prune our Rowan tree at the front of the garden in exchange ....providing the painting was acceptable, as I'd not done a dog portrait before. At the end of it, he and his wife were happy, and my wife was happy to get the tree sorted...job done, and I enjoyed the challenge.
