Andy Corley, R.I.P. by Robert Jones, Napa

Lovely brushwork Robert and a very good portrait. Heartless for the landlords to discard the portrait I feel.

It is a very good and real portrait, the colours come together perfectly !

I like the palette Robert, everything works together very well. Good to see one of your portraits.

Saw this on the Forum first, what a sad story and am so pleased you're going to do it again. He looks like a lovely man and you have painted him well. If I could be so bold but if you are painting him again those glasses need to be upsized as they are disproportionally too small I think ?

A fine portrait Robert, painted with feeling.

Reading the account the colours you used seem to reflect the story Robert. There is a certain strength in this portrait as well.

A really fitting tribute!!

Superb portrait Robert and good to see it on the gallery.

Superb portrait, great tribute.

Heather, eagle-eyed, has noticed the specs - yes, they should be bigger, and will be next time I have a crack at him.

Hey, that’s a darn good portrait

I really like the palette too Robert, a very sad story he looks such a strong character.

You’ve given him character and twinkle in his eye. Lovely portrait and sad story

Acrylic portrait, done from photos and in quite a hurry; I didn't realize why he wanted it done quickly - but he was near death, and wanted to leave some proof that he'd actually been alive. Just months after he'd paid for his portrait, he was found dead in his flat; and this painting was thrown out by his landlords. I'm so angry for him, though not for me - because I'll paint him again, and ensure he DOES live on.
