The old coal store, Niton Undercliff

The Coal store

I've had watercolour troubles for a long time, and this one - though no masterpiece - is the first one for a while I've (sort of) brought off.

I'd say you've brought it off Robert. I do like seeing the old building reclaimed by natural undergrowth, too. Lovely soft greens (and no pthalo in sight!).

Nice job done here…the colours are excellent! A lot of foreground and that uphill slope make for a difficult composition. I’ll reply to your thread on watercolour paper later on… I have some ideas.

I like this Robert. I find watercolour so tricky so hats off to you.

Very well painted Robert.

Lovely light in this Robert, I like the old bean doors and the greens. Great job.

Barn doors.

I see success here Robert. You have a way with trees and undergrowth in all mediums, I like it very much.

Nicely done art Robert!

Watercolour of (my version) of an old coal store building at Castlehaven, on Niton Undercliff; edited to fit my paper. The building stored coal for the old garrison, and also smuggled items when it suited the locals. Being reclaimed by natural undergrowth: an interpretation; if you want the actuality, bring your camera! Ca. 10" by 10".
