Beware of the ....... where is he....?

Well, I can't find any critters at all! Very good light in this, as usual, Robert. P.s. Good job you followed Dimitri!

Somewhere within is concealed an animal of which we're normally advised to beware. You might find it if you view in full size.

A bull, peering at us from beneath that tree?

Ratty is hiding too well for me, but the bull is menacing nicely.

Yes, the bull is beneath the trees - the toffee apple goes to the one who can identify where beneath the trees. I've just noticed by the way that my sky - at least in the photo - appears to depict the Honey Monster of advertising fame in years gone by.......

Now that you pointed it out, I can see the Honey Monster Robert. The bull is standing next to the fence but the rat is well hidden. It's a lovely sunny painting!

Ah, yes... But the rat's still hiding.

I'm obviously blind because I missed both the rat and the bull (only found the bull because Satu very kindly disclosed the location), but I'm not blind enough to miss a good painting when I see one. Super textures and brushwork, Robert!

I think I spot something rat like just in front of the nearest tree trunk on the right?

Toffee apple goes to Christine. Something rat-like is right: I tend to anonymize them so they're hard to see: we don't want people throwing things or taking pot-shots, after all. And not every customer is going to like rats - I know, I know, I can't understand that either....

He's obvious now I know where to look .... Very discreet.

Well I can see the rat under the tree and the bull to its rear, but who the hell is Ferdinand and where is he? Great atmospheric painting but now my eyes have gone all wobbly.

Well Ican see the rat at the base of the tree and the bull to its rear, but who the hell is Ferdinand and where is he? Great atmospheric painting but now my eyes have gone all wobbly.

See told you my eyes have gone all wobbly, gorn abd donr it twice tut tut

By the gate, Robert. Good first name, by the way. Distinguished. Aristocratic.

Ahhh Ferdinand the Bull now why did I not think of that? ....Distinguished? Aristocratic? Me? Think they may have misnamed me in that case!

Your paintings always have a lovely textural quality about them and I can see this in the large tree on the left - just beautiful. As for the little friends in the painting, I have spotted a couple - are there more?

Getting so fed up with the wet, the dank, the browns and greys and mud, that I dug a summer drawing out of the sketchbook and painted it. There is another critter hidden - not especially discreetly - in this one: you'll find the rat easily enough, but possibly Ferdinand will be a little harder to find. Oil on board, 30 by 40cm. Photograph is not quite as true to the colour as it might be, but the light here isn't good.
