Beautifully painted, one of my favourite subjects rusty old boats.

Another boats fan Rob. Beautifully done. Your "calm" water is perfect.

I would not have thought that a painting of a boat could be described as peaceful, but this one is.

All three paintings are so well created, Rob. The precision and purity you produce in watercolour is inspiring. And they always look so alive and vibrant.

Watercolour, 58 x 37 cm. An old trawler from Oban, on the west coast of Scotland, plies its trade in calm seas off the islands. This was painted as a commission for a seaman who had served on the boat, so I wanted accuracy. BUt I also enjoyed painting the rust and the workaday, 'nothing special just work' feel of the trawler doing what can be a tough job.
