Watercolour, 58 x 38 cm. A P-8A Poseidon leads 2 Typhoons in a formation turn towards the Covesea Lighthouse and their base at RAF Lossiemouth behind. I wanted to try to get 3 aircraft into this painting, and it needed quite a few sketches to work out how to do this, while including the lighthouse. I knew what I wanted, but took a few goes to get this feeling, which I hope is like flying alongside the formation, looking along the line of aircraft down to the sea.
