Irises
W&N Griffin Alkyd oil on linen box canvas 25/75cm. I decided I wanted to just paint the irises leaving the rest of the canvas clear. I'd had the canvas for a good few months and, to my dismay, when I removed the cellophane and the inevitable label I discovered that the linen had faded somewhat leaving a much darker square where the label had been. This resulted in me having to paint a lot more leaves than intended to hide it. A lesson learned, remove label straight away! Thanks for taking a peek.
