Beautiful well observed rose Val! I have no tips for you though on coloured pencils never having used them. Looks to me that you've mastered them! The colours here are stunning!

Don't really think you need advice on using coloured pencils Val, looks to me as if you've cracked it already! - lovely work.

Eye catching drawing, Val - looks as though you've used coloured pencils for years!

Beautiful vibrant work, Val. You have used the pencils so smoothly that the rose almost looks as if it has been painted. Lovely colour variations in the petals and also the leaves. I rather like that leaf trailing off the page - I always think doing that makes the painting look more spontaneous. Keep going with the pencils as if this is your first attempt, I can only imagine what wonderful work is going to follow.

I agree with Thea - it's very good for a start. Beautiful petals.... lovely.

Thank you ladies for your kind comments on my attempt with colourd pencils.

You look like you could dispense some advice, Val - I don't think you need any tips! It's a lovely vibrant painting. The colors and tones are beautifully applied.

Love this rose Val, beautiful colours. Coloured pencils - no problem to you.

Coloured pencil on Bristol board. I felt all painted out after the local open studio event so to ease myself gently back into it again I treated myself to some Caran D'Ache Luminance coloured pencils and this is the result of my first attempt with them. Not exactly a masterpiece but I enjoyed using them and found it quite relaxing. Any tips on using coloured pencils gratefully received.LOL
