Beautiful! I saw them on Sunday as I set off home from the dunes car park but it didn't seem sensible to stop the car on that road. I'd been to Alnmouth Arts Festival and then onto your beach.

Thank you all! I would have liked to have painted this on the spot but had an appointment later that morning. I’ll go again, armed with paint and brushes. It’s oil John, but looks less vibrant than it is….I photo’d it later in the day when the light wasn’t as bright.

Re the heat, yes we do Carole. It’s quite tricky because the sun will fall on my canvas -would need sth easy to carry…everything plus the kitchen sink!

Love the hazy distance Marjorie, has that feeling of still heat. Love a poppy field, don’t see too many here, it’s mainly livestock farming on grass.

Thanks Anne, Fiona and Lynne. We had very heavy rain at times today, thunderstorms, so I’m worried that the poppies may be flattened! “Lucky duck” - that’s a phrase I used when I was little, Lynne. Not heard it for a long time.😁
