Thank you all! Re the layering John… because the “claybord”is absorbent, layering can be done quite quickly without disturbing the previous colour too much.

A little study in between larger paintings/ ideas. It’s on Ampersand claybord which is tricky when you start because the paint is absorbed quickly. As you proceed it lies more on top and has a pleasant soft finish. I’ve been adding a bit every few days…the garlic needs to go back in the kitchen now.
