Moonlight, a better photo

Comments

Don't be sorry Marjorie I have enhanced and reposted several times. If you feel you can improve your painting why not. Lovely atmospheric scene.

The thing is, before the site was updated, you could replace the photo in the existing post, thus keeping to one post. I don’t know why we have lost that facility. Thanks Chris, for the comment.

It turned out wonderfully Marjorie.

This is a really lovely painting Marjorie. The light on the water is magical.

Thank you Denise and Spencer.

Beautiful, Marjorie, very atmospheric, love the limited palette and foreground grasses. I also miss the ability to replace a photo, I thought this feature was going to be re-instated - several of us asked, maybe it needs mentioning again.

Thanks Jenny. We can but try.

Much better Marjorie. Really nice work.

Marjorie, this is so beautiful, I really like your palette choice, and those splendid reflections.

Very nicely painted Marjorie, did they used to call these nocturnes?

This is absolutely lovely, Marjorie

Thank you Jim, Lesley, Stephen and Thalia. Yes, Stephen…” nocterne” ….has such a lovely sound to it I think. This is for an art club project.

Well I missed your first post but this is really atmospheric and well painted Marjorie! I have asked for this photo issue to be looked at, I was always switching photos before the update, but it won’t happen anytime soon…

It is surprising how the shift from blue to green changes the whole mood of the image. I can see why you wanted to repost this with something closer to what you had created. I do prefer this less sombre version.

Very effective use of limited palette and a lovely painting Marjorie.

Beautiful moonlight Marjorie.

I echo all the above comments Marjorie…..it’s a wonderful example of the use of a limited palette to great effect.

Beautiful palette and atmosphere.

First of all…whoops! “ nocturne” Stephen🥴. Thanks Alan and Tony - the changing light during the day seems to affect the photos. Thanks too, Diane, Carole and Michael ( sounds like a Shakespearean quote Michael), Fiona and Lea.

A very romantic, moonlight, scene full of hope and beauty Marjorie.
