A Walk to the dunes, Winter

Comments

Superb painting Marjorie that’s beautifully done. Definitely a good idea to keep the grasses etc .

A super picture - well done.

Fab, love it! There’s something about snow on the beach that doesn’t seem right, but looks amazing.

This is a lovely painting Marjorie. It has a great sense of depth in it and the grasses at the front work well.

Excellent capture of the winter light.

It's lovely, very much like Camber Sands round our way. Like all those grasses and how you've painted them.

I love the misty atmosphere. Lovely to capture that lovely walk Marjorie.

This is lovely, Marjorie, I especially like the foreground grasses. Lucky you, living so near to the sea!

Lovely painting, beautiful colours.

A real masterpiece Marjorie.

An excellent and lovely painting! Especially like your painting of the grasses, twigs and branches in such a delicate way, and with some light and some dark - it's great.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments! Jenny, you obviously miss the sea - I would miss it so much if I moved away.

You have done a fantastic job on this Marjorie. Although it is a winter scene it still has plenty of warmth in the colours which I really like.

A brilliant piece Marjorie, I envy you living close to the sea and being able to walk along the shore especially during winter.

I agree with all the other comments; I love it too. It must be from very near where I painted in February last year. No dilemma for you, regarding moving Coquet Island, as your viewpoint is a bit lower than mine was.

Great painting Marjorie.

A bright crisp day, lovely job Marjorie. I agree about the foreground grasses, they push everything back.

I've sent you an e-mail at the address we've used before.

Love it Marjorie. Super painting.

Superb painting Marjorie. The palette, the shadows and the fact that there is a tantalising glimpse of what’s beyond, to explore.

I commented on Facebook, and will repeat here - like your colour palette, and your twiggy bits! I live right next to the sea - the danger is that the house will fall into it one of these days - this is typical of the approach to the beach, or beaches: we have more than one: people say it's so brown, so dull, at this time of year - thus proving that they don't really know how to look: with snow, as you have, or without, as is the case presently down here, there's plenty of colour if you search it out - the light from the sea will pick it out for you, if you just stop and look.

Wow, beautiful painting Marjorie

Beautiful colours and light Marjorie. The detail is wonderful; I really like your painting.

There’s a long list I have to thank here - David, Russell, Roger, Shaun, Lewis, Denise, Fiona, Spencer, Roger, Cheryl and Karen - thank you all very much!😄

This is brilliant Marjorie. The tangled hedge the light the distance through to the sea. Fantastic painting!

I admire how you have placed the smattering of snow Marjorie, so that they don’t swamp the struggling twigs and foliage struggling their way out of the earth. There is a lovely variety of growth and the blue, greys and purples of the foliage bring life to this lovely winter snapshot.

Interesting painting - like the style and colours.

Many thanks, Martin, Carole and Maureen - much appreciation!

Stunning....the light...the palette....the moment....jus stunningly good.

Oil on board, 40x50cm. A recent walk to the beach, in the snow. The temperature was low but the sun was bright and there was no wind, so it was quite warm on the beach.
