It's a rather nice set-up Marjorie, this should make for a splendid oil. I am liking the overall colours also although I'm sure the finished piece will take on a completely different look.

Love the composition and the wonderful monochromatic palette, Marjorie. Super work!

What a marvelous concept. This is great, look forward to the oil.

still beautifully done Marjorie up to the usual high standard

Great composition and idea, Marjorie - looking forward to seeing the final version!

That is a lovely painting Marjorie, beautifully nostalgic, oozing of old times.

Brilliant idea and brilliant work Marjorie.

Hey, I'm glad you're all positive about this - thanks! I was feeling unsure about it.

Wonderful collection of objects Marjorie, the oil is going to look tremendous.

Lovely, I like the retro look Marjorie.

I think it looks great, Marjorie, especially with the muted palette. The glassware/ship's decanter is particularly impressive. I'm looking forward to the oil version. Brian

Thanks Fiona and Janet. Brian, somebody rudely called that a vinegar bottle! They may not be worth much but they belonged to past family members - the "book" on the right was a pre "passport", a reference for my great grandmother when she came over from Denmark in the 1860's.

I can hear the tick of the grandfather clock in the background. A beautiful composition, Marjorie.

I don't think we were "well off" enough to have a g. Fatherlock Ellen.

Great theme, love how you achieved the silver look Marjorie.

Looks very good in Acrylics which bodes well for the larger oil Marjorie. It’s an excellent composition and I look forward to seeing the finished piece.

This is a beauty it deserves to be scaled up in oils. Acrylic dries too quickly , however you have overcome all the problems and produced a lovely painting

This is good will make a great oil painting

Very unusual painting Marjorie. Like the assortment of objects and the muted palette. Exciting challenge ahead of you. Look forward to the outcome.

Ha ha, no pressure then, I've only myself to blame.

Good painting, Marjorie.

Wonderful collection of still life keepsakes. The glassware is marvellous! Looking forward to the finished oil painting

It’s composition time Marjorie. Love the way you paint metal.

Good subject and study

I'm sure your finished piece will be even better, but its already looking good Marjorie.

Gentle poignant painting Marjorie

This is very lovely Marjorie, I look forward to seeing the oil painting.

One word superb again Marjorie what a talent

I like this very much. I can tell your frustration. I look forward to the larger oils.

Acrylic, 30x40cm, gesso'd mdf. Ideas for a larger painting, frustrated a bit by the acrylic, no time to build up the layers so it looks thin. The larger painting will be in oil.
