A great painting Marjorie. As Heather has said the back lighting and the shadows are superb. I can imagine the dog suddenly running off and enjoying the freedom of being on the beach.

Christine, Shirley, Janet - thanks for the comments. The coast never fails to inspire ( as you know, Shirley) and yes, Coquet Island, Janet. Off there with our labrador lodger this morning - the beach not the island.

Another goodie, Marjorie! I love Tom's stance - looks as though he's wondering why no-one has thrown his ball! The long winter shadows give great atmosphere to the painting.
