I understand the attraction of Dickensian type characters, these are all very good ... Dickens would have been inspired!

Four excellent characters Lew . Before I read your comment I thought Dickensian , I like the bewildered look on the artist I’m sure I often have that look myself.

Excellent, Lewis!

There is an endless source of great Dickens characters, all interesting to tackle I imagine, as are these. I really like the little inky artist chap also.

I can almost hear the bottom two saying, 'Aye, 'tis grim up north".

Fab stuff. Love bottom left. He could be related to the woman too

Great characters, love the artist.

A good set of characters Lewis, you are a great observer of facial expressions.

Interesting characters Lewis.

Four great Dickensian style characters, well drawn.

Four really excellent drawings Lewis. The nose of the artist looks very familiar to me. (as plain as the wotsit on my face.)

Thank you all very much for your encouraging comments.

The bottom two characters look as though they were made for each other Lewis…..excellent work.

Number Two said "Sam Weller" to me right off Lew. Good work.

I love your works, Lewis!

All great characters Lewis.

Wonderful expressions again Lewis.

Wonderful Lewis, love the artist, I’m sure it’s me!!

Brilliant as ever!

Part of my plan to draw something everyday, until I think of something else to paint. When I'm stuck for ideas of what to draw, which is often, I fall back on Dickensian types. So 3 of these are that...not actual characters...just the type. Not sure why. Just like drawing them, I suppose. These were drawn with a black water-soluble coloured pencil...used wet and dry.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
