Fantastic Lewis. I had a friend long ago, who thought herself so superior but had a come down when she pronounced Chanel, with the ‘ch’ of cheese. This so reminds me of that incidence.

Yes Linda, I have heard that one, and several variants of it. I lower the tone of this website enough already...so I've stayed clear of using it. (Along with 'rectum'...a much used malapropism.)
