Four really good paintings Lew , you are really good at drawing and painting faces.

These are great characters Lewis.

Such depth to the characters just from their expressions. Superb

They are great, Lewis!!

I don’t know where you get some of your faces Lew! Do you have the detail in your head when you start or do they develop as you draw? I’m thinking of specs lady in particular!

Thanks very much for your comments. Tessa, beyond the idea of a 'type' they tend to develop as I draw... the great benefit of making things up. For example, I wanted to give the lady top left glasses, so I gave her a ski-back nose so I could draw the glasses more easily.

Great drawings Lewis. The green hairstyle is wonderfully elaborate.

My favourite is top left and I always like your characters and how they interact even thought they are 4 separate drawings

Thanks Lew. The thought of a ski-back nose will stay with me! Keep bringing your characters, we love them. 😂

Brilliant characters 🥰

Four brilliant characters, all Superbly done, bottom left my favourite. 😀

Great group of characters, Lewis. I especially like the one top right - a kindly expression.

A great selection Lewis. Bottom left looks like he's just won the local election!

I really shouldn't say this but....... one of them does put me in mind of the editor of a certain magazine aimed at artists! Hope I don't get us both blacklisted.

Superb drawn as always Lewis.

Four little masterpieces Lew. Great stuff.

Thanks again for your great response. I've no idea who you mean Tony. These are from the dark recesses of my mind, if they look like anyone it's pure chance.

Amazing imagination you have Lewis. Funnily enough there is always a recognisable character to behold.

I love your images.

Awesome 👌

Brilliant as usual!

I always enjoy your stuff Lew.

You bring life to your creations Lewis and that is what makes your art so popular.

I like groups of pictures, and drawing faces of course. Cartoonish and made-up, I have only a passing interest in real life. I decided to give the girl- bottom right - odd almond shaped eyes, but have managed to make her slightly cross-eyed in the process. Ho hum. Watercolour-gouache-coloured pencil-pen, grouped together in photoshop.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
