Lol great characters Lewis, so detailed. Even love the wall 🧱 have a good day ☺️

Great ... I love the lady at the end, very Les Dawson.

Wonderful group.

Love the characters, particularly the chap in the centre!!

Absolutely how it was Lewis I have an 84 year old friend who used to be in a skiffle group who tells me these same stories. Your Characters are absolutely superb as always. Thank you.

Excellent painting Lew and great humour , I had a friend who was the lead singer in a band he lorded others over the others.

Smashing! I also love the face of the lady, and as Faye says, the wall! Your details are always wonderful.

Another awesome work Lewis, great characters. I love everything about it

Excellent Lewis.

Brilliant group Lewis. You can read their characters so well

Good old days is right Lew. Where did you get the photo of me from... ? (-:

Amazing Lewis! Every band member perfectly captured as is the sniffy expression of the woman. I was going to say it's now 'one of my favourites' but I could say that just about every other day!

You have captured the era very well, another good one Lew.

A great group of characters Lewis.

Love all the expressions on each face- all different but so good. The details always amaze me - from the wall to the battered songbook!

HAHAHA brilliant, spot on!

Thanks for your great comments, I thought this might ring a bell for a few. Not having any musical talent myself I just expected the bands to be there, never giving a thought to how they got there with all their gear. I'm talking about a time when it was rare for ordinary people to have a car.

A skiffle group...love it.

Always a joy to linger on one of your drawings

Good stuff Lewis.

I love this Lewis. The characteristics of each band member is brilliant but I particularly like the woman at the end of the queue. She reminds me of Les Dawson when he dressed as a woman!

Great characters and painting, Lewis. You make us always smile, thank you.

A skiffle band! That takes me back. Wonderful characters, especially the unimpressed woman. Thanks again Lew.

I love this!

We were talking about my wife's brothers who had a band that played in the local pubs back in the late 1950's/early 1960s. A saxaphone, piano, tea-chest bass and drums. No cars back then, they had to catch a bus carrying all their gear. Sometimes the conductor wouldn't let them on. The pianist, second left in my pic, had no worries...all pubs had a piano back then. The good old days...I think.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
