Super quartet, love the cowboy's expression

Superb group characters. Always brings a smile.

Another great set

Great sketches, Lewis, I especially like the jovial chap top left.

Superb artwork Lew, I like the bottom two the most , seeing it in pencil then colours is really good.

All excellent, Lewis, really good colours on the cowboy.

More great stuff. It took me a while to notice that you hadn't coloured the left arm of Gringo Greg from Greenwich thought I suspect that makes the image more interesting. I often prefer not quite finished versions.

Great characters, Lew. Almost begs the narrative to go with them

Brilliant as ever Lewis!

Great Characters as always Lewis. All good.

Such different characters but interesting to hear how you’ve completed the cowboy.

Thanks to all for your feedback...much appreciated.

Excellent Lewis, good Dandini character and the "lived in" faces of the Cowboys !

Fantastic characters Lewis and superbly drawn as always.

Lovely work as ever Lew. Quick draw Magraw..(-:

Brilliant characters Lewis 🙂

These are superb sketches Lewis. I really don’t know where you get all your ideas from. You are so skilled in developing the facial characteristics to form a range of emotions.

Another super selection Lewis.

I'd watched a film about Queen Anne, there were lots of dandies in outrageous wigs, some with white faces. Thought I draw one from memory, when done I checked against some pics...not too far out with the dress and wig. The cowboy was drawn with a black polychromos pencil. I decided to add watercolour washes, these pencils accept that well, with far less 'grubbying' from the graphite that you with with normal pencils. The hat in particular had a lot of black, but very little 'grubbyness.'

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
