Wonderful...your observations are so clever Lew.

Very well observed, cheers Lewis!

Excellent depiction Lewis and I agree with you regarding the similarity with some art critics.

The dip pen worked well a great set of beautifully drawn characters Lew and all true to life.

From the inspirational sip to the mouth watering glug Lewis. Brilliant.

Hahahaaaa ;) You've made my Sunday Lewis ;) It's like reading people's minds aloud ;)

You’ve such an inventive mind for your drawings Lewis. Such great observations with humour.

Thank you for your comments, always appreciated. The idea for this came from the TV...I'd turned it on and there was a cookery show playing, they were talking about the best wines for this and that. I don't watch this stuff but the 'expert' was talking about the 'bouquet' and you can 'smell the vineyard'...perversely I find this stuff interesting (or amusing) in the same way that I listen to twaddle being talked about art.

I've had wine like the one on the left, and that on the right; AND the second left.... had one called Paris Street: a better name would have been Wolverhampton Alleyway. However, moving swiftly on, yes - the terminology of the wine world, eg "notes of cherry and chocolate" (bunk!) is at least as pretentious as that used by art critics, and no more helpful in forming an opinion. A typically inventive drawing, and you always get the costumes/clothing just right: your work deserves a much wider circulation than I suspect it gets.

Always raises a smile and always well drawn. Thanks Lewis

Wonderful characters Lew. Love their thoughts on the wine 🤣

Your humour and imagination hold no bounds Lewis. You always make me laugh.

Wonderfully inventive and so funny!

Great one Lew. Takes me back to watching Jilly Goolden and Oz Clarke on tv and looking for Malcolm Gluck’s recommendations in the supermarket. Oh the joy when you found a particular one lurking at the back of the shelf! You’re the art equivalent of Peter Kaye - finding the amusing in the ordinary!

Great fun and great drawings Lewis.

As ever, clever and skilful Lew.

Magic Lew. Love the lady checking her shoe…..scream!

Thanks again to everybody for your generous comments.

Superb Lewis. Great characters and I love their variety thoughts on the wine.

As always these are brilliant characters Lewis, love them

So well drawn as always Lewis and such great characters.

I'm not much of a wine drinker, but I like listening to what the 'experts' say about it...it reminds me of the arty-pants stuff put out by art critics. Trying a simpler style here with dip-pen and coloured pencils, on 220 gsm cartridge paper.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
