Mmmmm like lots .But is playing a Penny whistle ReALLY making music..? Lol

Nicely drawn, getting in on the action!

I like the way you’ve included the artist’s hand - cleverly done, with the flautist looking as if waiting before he can play the next note!

I also like the inclusion of the artists hand it's a lovely touch on this fine drawing Lewis.

I know I could do with a hand to keep me in tune Lewis. So clever.😊

Maybe old concept but your interpretation is great

Superb artwork Lew and beautifully drawn .

A serious Lew, well almost. Brilliant as usual though.

I love it!

Excellent Lewis, especially the face well done 👍

Wonderful drawing Lewis. Your caricature is perfect as always.

Love the hand holding the dip pen in this expertly drawn piece… please reconsider the forum Lew, you are a valuable member…

Great sketch, Lewis, love the inclusion of the artist’s hand. I echo Alan’s comments about the forum - please reconsider!! (or at least read the replies to your latest forum comment).

Thanks very much for having a look and your comments. Always valued, always encouraging. ( Alan, Jenny...I might...after I've sulked for a bit. I'm a crotchety old man at times, and get the hump over things I shouldn't.)

Or at least don’t drop out of the Artistic Inspirations thread - was looking forward to seeing those artists you’d suggested!

It may be an old concept, Lewis, but one you master so well.

Brilliant Lewis, the lips and hands are perfectly drawn, to state the obvious, he looks as though he's playing the flute. Penny whistle Sylvia?

Well, I’ve been out all morning - at the art club….but in time to catch your always excellent drawing.🤩

Superbly drawn, especially the hands- so hard to get right.

That’s so clever, the hand finishing painting the flute, while the player pauses. Terrific Lewis.

Really good Lewis, like the idea.

Great sketch Lewis, the inclusion of your hand reminds me of a strip in one of the comics I used to read when I was a lad - Smart Art, he’s quick on the draw!

Clever, funny and beautifully drawn!

So much personality, expressed with such expressive lines and marks. Really fabulous work, Lewis!

I agree with Tessa below. Beautifully drawn.

I like the artist's hand included. Good result, Lewis.

Awesome art Lewis and happy new year 🎉 although feels ages ago

OH Lewis!!!! I don't know where to start, or which sketchbook/art work to choose to write my comment because I LOVE THEM ALL. Such fun and such talented work. Your love of your art is so palpable with every line drawn and colour used. I make up my pictures too, often after seeing something that has caught my eye on the beach and become indelibly printed on my mind......:) Like the wild swimmers ...my next subject. Take care and carry on enjoying your retirement.

An old concept, you see it everywhere, I've done a few before. Fun thing to do. One of four new sketchbooks I got for Christmas. This one is an Artway white A3 170gsm book...I'll use it for pen and pencil drawings.
