Oil on canvas panel, 24 x 30 cm. Depicts the famous Stockhorn Massif, viewed against the late afternoon sun. Studio pice from an on-site sketch. This painting demnded attention to the hierarchy of values that the scene presented. Although almost monochrome, the following palette was used: Prussian blue, Cobalt Blue, Cerulean Blue, Tourquise Blue, Blue.Black, Naples Yellow, Cd.Orange, Cd. Yellow med, B.Umber, Tit.White on a Cd.Orange/White underpainting.
