Oil on board, 24 x 30 cm, painted mostly on site and depicts a late autumn afternoon at Altreu, a bend in the river Aare, Switzerland, that during summer hosts a stork colony. On this day in October, only the occasional swans and the squabbling of ducks disturbed the stillness. Even the high flying passenger jets were barely audible.
