Thanks for the comments. The fade-outs were an unintentional spin-off as I liked the way the under-painting added an extra texture.

I was invited as a VIP guest to the RAF Air Cadet 75th event at Cranwell in August 2016 where I took some reference photographs and drew some pencil sketches used for this painting of the parade. The standards in the background are representative of Air Cadet Organisations in other countries such as Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
