Biography

Tessa Spanton SWA Artist, Writer and Tutor I paint in watercolour, acrylic, oil and oil pastel as well as on silk. I and also enjoy working with textiles. Painting on silk combines both. My paintings have been exhibited at the Mall Galleries and the Westminster Gallery in London and near Paris with the Town Twinning Association. In 2001 I was elected as a member of The Society of Women Artists and the Society of Floral Painters. I write articles with step by step demonstrations for Leisure Painter magazine, I have also written for Paint and Peinture sur Soie and contributed to several books. I enjoy working with textiles and design and make scarves and jewellery using silk and merino wool.
