“Boats on the beach” by William Jones

Another lovely loose watercolour William, and such well drawn trawlers. I would have bled some of the furthest cliff tops into the sky, but I’m nitpicking!

Thank you Heather and Alan, I do agree with you Alan it’s a bit too much and should have been more subdued. I only added it at the end and over did it but just wanted to practice on boats and was happy with that part. Thank you both👍

The cliffs are fine, it’s just the hard edge all over…

A superb piece, as someone who loves marine paintings this is extremely good in my opinion.

You could improve it, and you probably will next time, but it's a fine piece as it stands, and the colour is fabulous - e.g. of the hull of the boat, the sand, the sky. Sorry to hear about your recent ill-health - and hope things are improving for you.

Lovely tones and mixes in the cliffs, and the figure and birds make it for me.

What a beautiful painting! Boats have charm, so well executed against the simplified cliffs. The birds and boats are poetry itself.
